Product Description

LATE 1800s-EARLY 1900s MARTIAL REDON LIMOGES FLORAL PITCHER

  • Made between 1891 -1896 because it has the green underglaze whiteware MR France (Martial Redon) mark used during that time on the bottom.  It also has the M. Redon Limoge in a red circle in an overglaze mark used by La Porcelain Limousine after they changed the name from Martial Redon, used between 1905 and the 1930s.
  • Made of fine Limoges porcelain whiteware in Limoge, France and marked as the pattern number 6558.
  • Excellent condition, with a tiny bit of color loss on handpainted flowers and a bit of gold gilt, but colors are still amazing. The whiteware is in excellent condition as well on the outside, but a minimal bit of discoloring on the inside at the bottom. For well over 100 years old, it's amazing and adorable! We recently reduced our price from $50 to $35 on this piece, which is a really great buy for this rare piece.
  • Small pitcher, approximately 6” inches tall, in whiteware color with handpainted cotton candy pink, light purple and sunset yellow flowers with dainty and intricate detailing with their pea green vines and leaves woven in and around them, as well as small accents of ribbon like gold gilting also.
  • Gold gilt details line the pitcher mouth and lower handle.  Some of this gold gilt has worn off, but it doesn’t take away from the pitcher’s charm.
