LATE MID 20TH CENTURY ENGLISH CHANCE FLORAL ANEMONE TEARDROP GLASS DISH WITH GOLD GILT EDGE
Members of the England Based Pilkington Group, the Chance Brothers Glassworks Company created this glass teardrop shaped dish and other dishes in various shaped in the Anemone Pattern in the late Mid 20th Century, during the 1960s -1970s. It was designed by Michael Harris in 1965.
Transfer printed and perhaps some additional handpainting on the underside of the glass dish with gorgeous anemone flowers, so that food nor the paint will be effected.
Beautiful vibrant colors even at its age with beautiful anemone detail. Deep sunny yellow, bright purple, grass green and coral orange make this a decorative statement to any table. My mom, who was in Garden Club most of her life, would have definitely loved this for her springtime table.
Gold gilt edge, typical for that time, adds just the right touch of elegance.
Shallow dish with slightly raised sides at only 1.5”, so it’s perfect for candies, nuts or small desserts.
Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or loss of paint
