MID 20TH CENTURY MURANO AMBERINA GENUINE VENETIAN ART GLASS BOWL/ASHTRAY JORDAN IMPORT COMPANY
In mint condition, beautiful clear, smooth glass
In flow amberina color, fades from ruby red to glowing orange to sunset yellow
Bowl edges are ruffled and billowy with four clear glass protrusions for cigarettes and opposite ones for cigars
Minor bubbling on bottom of glass, not noticeable at all
8" square x 3” tall
Vintage “Genuine Venetian” piece, possibly made by Murano and distributed by the Jordan Imports Company of Italy in the Mid 20th Century. We did a lot of research, realizing how many pieces seemed to have a JI sticker on them but looked like different glass makers’ work. Finally we found that JI stood for Jordan Imports, although his daughter says he, “Jack Blanco, designed all of the glass and his parner, Spartaco Colelli took care of manufacturing in Venice.” He had offices/companies in both Murano, Italy and on 23rd and Fifth Avenue in New York City. We read in several places that he imported only the finest of glass.
